In 2011 Sagem Wireless, a french mobile phone manufacturer was acquired by Transsion, Infinix was born. Transsion has been a leading manufacturer of mobiles based in Shenzhen, China, with towering sales records in African continent as reported in 2017.
Infinix Mobile was born as a result of the acquisition of Sagem Wireless. Infinix is led by Benjamin Jiang as CEO. The company became the first mobile hardware brand manufacturer in Pakistan. With its research and development centers spread over the globe, mainly in France and Korea. Infinix Mobile Mobiles are designed in France and manufactured in these countries other than Pakistan: France, Bangladesh, Korea, Hong Kong, China and India.
Infinix mobiles are sold in more than 30 countries, mostly north africa and south asia, in 2017 the company gained 3rd place in number of sales in Egypt. Infinix Mobility is now (as announced in 2020) planning to bring smart TVs to the Nigerian electronics market under the Infinix brand. Infinix TVs are already being sold in India.
